President Pnoy has set another record for the Philippines in naming a woman Chief Justice in the name of Lourdes Sereno as the first ever woman Chief Justice of the Philippines.
Though the appointment of the new Chief Justice had flocked rumors because the position should be for someone who had serve the Justice department for quite sometime meaning for señority but this was not followed with having Lourdes Sereno as the newly appointed Chief.
Lourdes Sereno graduated in Ateneo de Manila University in the year 1980. She got her law degree in University of the Philippines.
Previous president of the Philippines had done the same bypass of señority since the time of President Marcos for choosing Ramon Aquino and Felix Makasiar over Claudio Teehankee. Gloria Arroyo who had chosen Artemio Panganiban over Reynato Puno and also putting Renato Corona months before she stepped down from office.
